THE GREAT HOBBY HUNT is a blog to explore hobbies as a complete and utter beginner. Before I had children, I was quite happy to fill my personal time browsing the internet and reading (and, most of all, sleeping) Since having my son and starting at university as a mature student I’ve found I need something to occupy my free time so it doesn’t feel wasted. People seemed to have hobbies but I had never cultivated one. Join me in my journey as I try out new hobbies and blog about them here!
Deviating away from the hobby theme for a little bit, I’m going to push the boundaries of ‘Hobby’ to ‘Making my little boy shriek with joy. I hope this helps someone else as I’d have been gutted if I’d missed it! There’s a cinema experience for Peppa Pig coming to venues all around the country… Continue reading Peppa Pig – My First Cinema Experience
This is one of the colouring books I picked up from aldi for £2.99 (see the blog with other hobby bargains HERE) (and for anyone in the area the metro centre Aldi still has copies available). Or it’s available here on amazon. This book fills the same formula of the other Millie Marotta colouring books, with… Continue reading Millie Marotta’s Curious Creatures Review
A relative gave me a copy of this book and I am not sure where it came from. A copy of it is available from amazon here 22 Piece Quality Adult Colouring Book Set Premium Pencils In The Lines Therapy Free UK Delivery but I did not get the pencils so have no idea of… Continue reading In The Lines – Harmony for Adults Colouring Book Review
I am loving going to the gym so far. I went this morning and although my muscles felt like they were going to jump out of my body and desert me at the end of the workout, I feel great. I’ve lost 2kg (though I definitely can’t see it yet!) and my stamina is already… Continue reading The Gym – My Essentials So Far
This is where the Hachette Partworks series truly fell apart for me and never recovered. As I’ve said before, my main problem with the books are that they seemed to pick out the titles of the books without considering whether there were enough pictures to fill the books with. This book is called Russian Dolls… Continue reading 50 Mindful Patterns 3 Russian Dolls Review
I haven’t blogged for a while, the amount of coursework I’ve had has been absolutely ridiculous. I’ve spent most of my waking hours whenever my son was at nursery binge-watching Community out of the corner of my eye whilst working and having minor panic attacks over how much was left to get done. However, I… Continue reading Gym 2 weeks on
As I’ve mentioned before I’ve had Imagimorphia: 20 Posters to Colour on pre-order for quite some time. It arrived today and these are my first thoughts. As it stands I’ve not coloured any of the images and I’ll update when I have. 1st of all, the selection of images is good. I often complain that… Continue reading Imagimorphia posters, first thoughts.
As I occupy my late twenties, its starting to strike me that I’m not as fit as I used to be. Strike that, I was never ‘fit’.-I used to be a size 6 but even then I would be a sweaty mess by the end of a 100 metre run. I blamed my heart problems,… Continue reading Exercise as a hobby – can it be done?
This is my favourite adult colouring book. It’s taken a long time to review as I like to have finished pictures to add to the blog and I struggle to finish them because I want to take the time and do them well, they’re so beautiful. Imagimorphia is an excellent book filled with imaginative illustrations… Continue reading Imagimorphia Review, my favourite colouring book.
In my previous blog I mentioned picking up an Animorphia notebook for £2 from the works (a bargain I’m still elated about). I absolutely adore Kerby Rosanes work and knew that I would love this notebook. It didn’t disappoint. I love everything about it.it’s an A5 notebook so fits easily in a handbag and succeeds… Continue reading Animorphia Notebook Review
